Fairfield by Marriott Is Turning 30!
Fairfield by Marriott just launched its new design scheme to celebrate it's 30th year. Fairfield has always been an important brand for Marriott as it is now the 2nd largest brand for Marriott. This year Fairfield is celebrating their 30th anniversary with a brand new design scheme. The name and inspiration goes back 66 years in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. This is where John Willard and Alice Marriott purchased Fairfield Farms in 1951. The first Fairfield opened in 1987 in Atlanta, GA. Over the next 30 years the brand has grown to close to 900 locations worldwide.
New Design
Marriott describes the new scheme as "warm, timeless, forward-thinking, and inviting with simple nods back to the brand’s heritage." Expect new artwork, and finishes throughout that will invoke more of a farm and country theme. From the rendering below, you can see this is a similar lobby layout as the current Generation 4 scheme. The flooring looks to have gone to a larger format tile and the fire place is also much larger and more prominent. The open lobby concept which was implemented in the Gen 3 to Gen 4 evolution is still very much apart of this new design scheme. It looks like the very bright orange and green accent colors have been replaced with a more subtle color pallet. In keeping with the farm theme, more natural woods can be seen throughout.

Guest Rooms
The new guest room has a much larger headboard piece which seems to replace the accent wall paper seen in the Generation 4 scheme. It's hard to tell from the rendering below if the walls are painted or if wall vinyl will continue to be used in the guest rooms. The larger headboard is a similar approach that we are seeing across other brands including IHG's Holiday Inn Express Formula Blue V2. It will be interesting to find out if the headboard lighting is hardwired or not. The new carpet and drapery design direction and color scheme can be seen in this rendering as well.

Community Partnership
Fairfield also announced it would be strengthening its partnership with Habitat for Humanity. It is now going to launch a nationwide partnership with the large non-profit. There has been a long history of Fairfield partnering with Habitat for Humanity but now it appears this will be an even larger partnership.
